Staying Connected to SAWP

Staying Connected to SAWP

Even though your Summer Institute experience is over, your journey with the San Antonio Writing Project continues. As a Teacher Consultant of SAWP, you will always be a member of SAWP and the National Writing Project. You are a part of the SAWP family and a teacher leader who advocates for writing and effective writing instruction wherever you may be. Here are ways to stay connected to SAWP:

image005 SAWP Super Saturday Series

Attendees receive three hours of Professional Development Credit certified by the UTSA Academy for Teacher Excellence.

The first Saturday of February, SAWP hosts a conference for teachers. We have a special guest speaker (next year is Barry Lane!). Then new SAWP TCs from the previous summer will share their teaching demonstrations in concurrent sessions. Any SAWP TC is welcome to present as well. This conference is held at UTSA-Downtown.

image009 Get Involved with SAWP Work
We are a busy site with a lot going on. We have professional development, young writer’s camps, special projects like the College Ready Writer Program, the Cuentos Project, and more. Step up and help out. If you have an idea for something SAWP should do, make it happen.
